"it"

“it” 8.0

New Features

  • 3D LUTs are now supported for viewing and as a new image operator.
  • Background (previously Wipe Ref) — When a background image is selected, the displayed image is the result of an Over operation between the current and background image. The wipe function is still in place so you can interactively reveal the background that is underneath the foreground. Users can now set the Background on a per-catalog basis.
  • Pixel Aspect Ratios are back. There is now a preference that is a list of possible pixel aspect ratios, which shows up as a sub-menu on the view menu. Users can also add their own values via the it.ini.
  • “it” can now open more types of EXR images.
  • Individual catalogs can be saved and/or restored within a session.
  • Support for 8-bit rgba TIFF files has been reinstituted.
  • A new 'it' option, Show Render Time, has been added to the Render Current Frame options. When enabled, the render time will be written to the 'it' notes field.

Bug Fixes

  • A bug that could cause “it” to crash when rendering many-channel images has been fixed.
  • The itDisplayPeriod pref is now behaving as expected; users who have turned it off by setting it to zero should now turn it back on (0.5 is recommended).
  • A bug that would cause error messages and erratic behavior after renaming an image has been fixed.

Known Issues

  • On Linux x86 (32-bit), “it” cannot open OpenEXR files that are "PIZ" compressed.
