Materials can also be browsed, created, and shared with the Preset Browser in RenderMan for Maya, a new tool for managing shaders, lights, and textures.

RenderMan now ships with a special shader for hair and fur, created at Pixar for its own feature films. Because this shader was developed and tested in Pixar's own productions, it's is capable of producing movie quality results, quite literally. With Pixar’s Marschner Hair, dial in realistic hair with features not available in other models, but quite common in the real world, like luminous backscatter.
